i am a mother of 4 boys and 1 girl and i think my only hobbies are driving them to and from all of thier sports and clubs and school events! does anyone have any good hobbies out there that don't require a lot of money or personal time,but are still fun?

Amateur photography is awesome, plus you can use your kids as subjects while they practice/play.

My 11yo just took up knitting, she loves it and it's easy to carry around.

I'm not real sure of what you're looking for. Do you have any expectations of it being somewhat productive?

Of all things I collect phone cards and debit cards. These can be kept in plastic folders sorta like baseball cards are for boys. The used ones cost like nothing and can even be found just laying around sometimes.

I might suggest an aquarium but it depends on how much time you have to check on it. Fresh water is one way to go but I have always desired to have a stunning coral display and some colorful saltwater fish. But I'd caution a rookie to start out small with some cheap freshwater fish to get into good maintenance habits.


You can practice couponing into a fine art. In fact if you get pretty good you can parlay your coupons at CVS and practically get paid to shop!

Or maybe get some books on easy magic tricks. Could be fun at a dull gathering.

I did the same thing with some photos of my family and my best friends' family over the years. I gave it to her as a bday present and she loved it.
