PostSubject: Teenage Acne   Tue Aug 19, 2008 9:02 am

My oldest son and daughter lately have been sufferring from massive breakouts. They are small bubble type (gross) pimples, not like the red splotchy kind. I'm sure it's something to do with hormones. I'm going to get ProActiv for them.. has anyone tried anything else that worked? Poor teens, they are handling it pretty well though. Had it been me I would have refused to leave the house, terrible as it sounds lol

ProActiv works great. I have also used the "generic" version at Wal-Mart- I think it's AcneFree. More often then not I use oil of olay but lately seems very oily for my skin- can't win!!! LOL

Okay, so I cheaped out and bought this stuff at Walmart that was going for $4.99.. don't remember the name right now, something like Terminator LOL ... I will post how it works out for them. I went with that one because the medicated stuff that actually treates the pores in this was 10% while the others only had 2%. So, we'll see.

Oh I feel so sorry for all the teens that suffer from acne. My daughter had the same problem and I bought the Proactive for her too when it had first come out and was sold only on TV. I think I paid like $60.00 for it. It did nothing for her. We tried everything out there. She finally grew out of the acne. Fortunantly she didn't have any scars. Someone had once told me that toothpaste helps! I know it sounds stupid but like I said, she tried everything. As I recall, the toothpaste, applied just before bedtime and left to dry, helped somewhat. Just dab it onto each pimple and let it dry until morning and wash off. After washing her face she would use Sea Breeze astringent. Hope that helps anyone out there with this annoying problem. Smile

When my son was that age I used to make him 6 ounces of fresh carrot juice every day. It was easy - just run carrots through a juicer. There are a lot of antioxidants in carrot juice and it rids the body of impurities. Cleared his skin rather quickly without harmful chemicals.

That sounds like a great thing to try- I wonder if a premade "V8" type version would work---maybe too much sugar or other crap in it though????

Needs to be pure carrot juice--organic carrots are best. If you cannot find organic carrots or don't want to pay the price, wash carrots with vinegar and water. That will remove many of the chemicals.
