My kids go back to school tomorrow. That means I've got to get off the internet and GET MOVIN!!! There is soooo much to do to get them prepared. If you see a fantastic deal on school supplies, let me know!!! Especially Compostion notebooks!!! What a Face

My kids went back on Monday and I swear to you they will come out more evil than they went in because the staff at that schools shows no respect nor compassion for the parents. The boys were a huge help over the summer with keep my daughter amused while me and my fiance straightened out the details of our move and the postponement of our business. This stuff ain't easy and I have a whole new respect for stay at home moms. I think I want to look into homeschooling them. anybody doing that? homeschooling?

I have a huge respect for anyone who has the patience to stay home and homeschool their children. I don't have the patience to do that. There are resources online if you google homeschooling to help you with more information. GOOD LUCK!

I know someone that home schooled their child for a partial school year. She is sending her back to a regular school now though. I think you really have to have patience and dedication to do that.

I know that the laws from state to state vary on home-schooling.

Something else to think about ; are the long term effects of the kids social skills when they are home schooled. I have no negative facts on this, just something to think about.

I know for IL you have to send in copies of the childs tests or send in their scores. I'm not sure how strict they are on that or what all they expect. I do know there is a lot of home schooled children though and if you think it's really the best choice.. I don't think there is anything wrong with it. I just think it's something you have to think all the way through, long term. .. Like what if 2 years down the line you don't have the time to dedicate to it, what happens to them and will it be a difficult adjustment back in to a regular school ... those type things Razz
